Chelsea Gelwarg ︎

Chelsea Gelwarg grew up in New Jersey and New York and has been living in Mexico City since 2017. She has been sewing since she was 11 years old and her current practice of weaving banners and costumes and tapestries out of used materials fabrics and clothing has been developing over the past 5 years.

Hand woven corset (wall piece) made from used fabric

This piece includes metal clasps on the back, and two metal hooks on the top back corners in order to hang it on the wall. It is a wearable sculpture (although, because it is made from used materials, it is a delicate top). It must be washed by hand, and for safe-keeping I suggest keeping it hung on the wall as a sculpture.
